Very simple but iconic Thai dish, besides Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and easy to make with simple ingredients (as long as you can find enough thai basil!)

  • 1/2lb minced pork
  • 1 whole garlic, minced

  • fish sauce
  • 1tsp sugar

  • a bunch of Thai basil

STEP 1: mince a whole garlic, a few Thai chili peppers and a few chili peppers

STEP 2: in a pan with hot oil, quickly stir fry minced garlic and peppers till the fragrance is out

STEP 3: add in 1/2lb minced pork, stir fry till half cooked (all color change from raw, pink to darker color

STEP 4: add in 1-2tbsp cooking wine, 1tbsp soy sauce, 1tbsp dark soy sauce, 1tbsp oyster sauce, 1/2tbsp fish sauce; stir fry and make sure all mince pork are covered in sauce

STEP 5: add in 1/2tbsp sugar, mix well

STEP 6: turn off heat, add in the washed Thai basil, stir fry with the remaining heat till Thai basil looks wilted and cooked
