Another air-fryer project because I was craving French fries after a new Super Duper Burger opened near me! Of course, I had to make it health(ier), but still crispy and satisfying.
Ingredients
- 2 potatoes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Toppings of your choice (Parmesan, seaweed, etc.)
Instructions
- Step 1: Peel 2 potatoes and cut them into ~1-inch-thick slices.
- Step 2: Soak the potato slices in water for 30 minutes to 1 hour to remove excess starch. Change the water once during soaking.
- Step 3: Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the potato slices for 2โ3 minutes, until they become slightly translucent.
- Step 4: Remove the potatoes from the hot water, rinse them under cold water, and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. This step is important for getting that crispy texture!
- Step 5: Toss the potato slices with salt, pepper, and olive oil, making sure every piece is evenly coated.
- Step 6: Air-fry at 365ยฐF for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through so they cook evenly. Increase the temperature to 390โ400ยฐF and air-fry for another 2โ3 minutes, or until golden and crispy on all sides.
- Step 7: Remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutesโthe texture gets even crispier as they cool. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings and serve!
Enjoy the crispy, air-fried friesโwithout needing to deep-fry them!
